JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown picked up right where they left off from 2018-2019 when they went 27-0 and won the state championship. Friday night, like last year, the Jays used a strong second half defense to pull away for the win. Jamestown held Valley City to 17 second half points while scoring 45 in an 87-43 win.
Jamestown jumped out to a 25-7 lead to start the game and never looked back. Boden Skunberg lead all scorers with 25 points. Carson Lamp added 21 points and Brooks Carroll added four three-pointers and 14 points.
Peyton Zaun lead the Hi-Liners with 12 points. Jared Eggermont had nine and Drew Zaun added eight points.
This was the season opener for both teams.
Valley City will host Wahpeton on Tuesday night while the Jays host Bismarck St. Mary’s
