VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The ND Department of Transportation received bids for the 5th Avenue NW project in Valley City on November 8th, 2019.

KLJ Engineer Chad Petersen said four contractors submitted bids. The engineer’s estimate was $3,366,041.00 and the low bidder, KPH, Inc., bid was $3,852,699.30.

On Tuesday, December 3rd, the city commission approved the contract but directed city staff to have the lighting removed from the contract to reduce the costs. The work will be completed by crews from Valley City Public Works Department.

City Administrator David Schelkoph said those options to reduce the costs will be presented to the city commission at their next Finance meeting.
