FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The second state tournament appearance in three years for the Valley City Hi-Liners ended with a tough five set loss to Jamestown in the consolation championship match Saturday afternoon.
After the championship match, which saw Fargo Davies end Bismarck Century’s run of state championships, the All-Tournament team was announced. And seniors Lindsey Noeske and Macy Olstad were named to that team.
Noeske, a middle hitter, had 19 kills, nine blocks and 20 digs for the tournament. Her nine blocks were tied for the fourth most in Class A and seventh most overall in the tournament.
Olstad, an outside hitter, had 41 kills, one block and 37 digs. Her 41 kills were tied for fifth most in Class A and seventh overall. Olstad had two double-doubles in the tournament. In the win over Bismarck she had 13 kills and 12 digs. In the loss Saturday to Jamestown she had a game high 19 kills and 19 digs.
The Hi-Liners ended the season 18-14.
