VALLEY CITY (VCSU) – Valley City State University athletic director Jill DeVries announced today that Adam Longmore has resigned his position as head volleyball coach, effective at the end of the fall semester.

Longmore coached the Vikings for the last six seasons, guiding the program to a 74-105 overall record. Under Longmore, the Vikings had winning records in both 2017 (15-13) and 2018 (18-12) – the program’s first winning seasons since 2006. VCSU advanced to the NSAA Tournament semifinals three times during Longmore’s career.

“These past six years have been a wonderful experience not only for me, but for my entire family,” said Longmore. “The people of Valley City State University and the whole Valley City community have graciously welcomed us as their own, and we have built friendships here that will last a lifetime.”

We want to thank Coach Longmore for all he has done in his tenure at VCSU,” said DeVries. “We wish him and his family well in their future endeavors.”

DeVries said a national search for VCSU’s next head volleyball coach will start immediately.

Valley City State University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and a conference member of the North Star Athletic Association.
