JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The all-West Region football teams were announced this week and Jamestown had three players selected to the first-team and two more selected honorable mention. Senior QB Tommy Falk was named to the first-team offense along with junior WR Jacob Hilgeman, who lead the conference in receiving yards.
Junior defensive lineman Matt Anderson also was selected to the first-team.
Falk finished the season with a completion percentage of 50% for over 1700 yards and 12 touchdowns. This came mostly without his go-to target Jeremy Williams, who left the second game of the season and never returned with a torn ACL.
However, Hilgeman slid into that spot of “go-to-guy” and didn’t disappoint. The junior hauled in 43 passes for 825 yards and nine touchdowns. Hilgeman proved he has a future in football beyond his final season with the Jays in 2020.
Anderson, who started on both offense and defense, found his niche in Shawn Frank’s defense clogging up the middle and forcing double-teams. He finished the year with 26 tackles (13 solo) and six TFLs.
Lawson Frey and Keith Levin were named to the honorable mention team.
