WASHINGTON, D.C. (NewsDakota.com) – Senator John Hoeven announced that he has nominated six North Dakota students for appointments to the nation’s military academies.
Hoeven nominated Catherine Schlosser of St. Mary’s Central High School in Bismarck to the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA); MacKenzie Kirkpatrick of Fargo North High School in Fargo to the USNA; Jacob Dosch of Shanley High School in Fargo to the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA); Ryan Hermes of Oakes High School in Oakes to the USAFA; Adelyn Emter of Trinity High School in Dickinson to the U.S. Military Academy (West Point); and Cassidy Sanderson of Devils Lake High School in Devils Lake to West Point.
Ryan Hermes of Oakes was selected to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Hermes is a senior at Oakes High School where he holds a 4.0 GPA and serves on Student Council. He participates in wrestling, track, cross country, choir, band and the drum line. Ryan serves in his local church, he is an Eagle Scout and an active member in the FFA.
