LANGDON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Lisbon Broncos Football team ran into a buzz saw Saturday afternoon in their semi final playoff game against Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich. Both teams came into the contest unbeaten with the Broncos at 10-0 and the Cardinals at 11-0. Unfortunately the Broncos maybe played their worst game of the year in route to a 50 to 0 loss. A lot of credit has to go to the Cardinals, but the Broncos didn’t seem quite like themselves.
Before I get into the numbers I do want to congratulate the Broncos players and coaches on a great season. This one game should not take away from all that they accomplished. Before the season started I don’t remember anyone predicting that the Broncos would go unbeaten in Region 1A. And it was great to see the whole Lisbon area rally around their team.
The scoring for the Cardinals came fast and furious. Here is a rundown of the numbers:
First quarter
Cardinals – Simon Romfo 46 yard TD run with 8:03 remaining in the 1st. 2 pt. conversion good. 8-0
Cardinals – Grant Romfo 47 yard TD pass from S. Romfo with 5:24 remaining in the 1st. 2 pt. conversion good. 16-0
