JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmie men’s basketball team had been waiting for Terrell Alfred’s breakout after a rough start to the season and the prescription was a visit from their biggest rival, Valley City State. Alfred posted a team-high 25 in a 104-86 win.

Jamestown used a 15-4 run to take control in the last 3:04 of the first half and went into halftime with a 58-40 lead. Mason Walters posted a 10 point and seven rebound line in the first 20 minutes.

The two teams played an even final twenty minutes with a 46-46 tie. At one point, Jamestown pulled down 12 straight rebounds.

Walters finished with 16 points and 17 boards. There were three other Jimmies in double-figures. Brock Schrom finished with 16, Isaiah Dobson added 15 and Brady Birch chipped in with 10.

Logan Nelson lead the Vikings with 32. The two teams will meet again on November 13th at the Bubble.
