JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown City Engineer Travis Dillman reports that combined releases from the Jamestown Reservoir and Pipestem Dam will reach 2,400 cfs by Saturday.

Dillman pointed out that each morning at around 8:30 AM, releases are increased by 100 cfs until they meet the 2,400 cfs goal.

Dillman states because of recent moisture, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has decided to maintain the 2,400 cfs releases through the winter.

Dillman says winter release may affect the integrity of ice as winter sets in.

A meeting will be held Tuesday at the Jamestown Civic Center at 5 PM to discuss the latest on releases from the Pipestem and Jamestown Reservoir through the winter.

Dillman says ice experts will be on hand to answer how they expect to handle ice formation on the rivers and how they will address any other issues that may arise with ongoing winter releases.
