JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown Jimmie Janes group and Men’s Hockey are teaming up to raise money for the JRMC Cancer Center during October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Lisa Jackson with the Jamestown Regional Medical Center says they have immensely expanded their services for cancer patients.
Jackson says events like these helps support programs like the No Excuses mammography program.
The UJ Men’s Hockey game on October 25th at 7pm will feature several different ways to donate to JRMC. The UJ Jimmie Janes organization is hosting the fundraising efforts at the game. The group will be selling raffle tickets with various prizes, says Abby Gremaux, a member of Jimmie Janes.
The event will also include a 50/50 raffle, breast cancer awareness shirts for sale, and free hot chocolate with pink marshmallows for the first 50 fans in the doors. Fans are encouraged to wear pink, as the Men’s Hockey team will also be decked out in pink tape.
