JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Somewhere in the middle of the third set the tide shifted and the Century Patriots took control of their two-point match against Jamestown in West Region volleyball last night at Jerry Meyer Arena. The Patriots picked up a 3-2 (14-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-14, 15-10) win and moved into a tie with Mandan for first place in the conference.
Jamestown took sets one and two and looked to be on cruise control with an 11-5 lead in set three. But the Patriots aren’t the four-time defending state champions for nothing. They found their groove and suddenly it was Century cruising to a come-from-behind win.
“We played really well for 2.5 sets,” said Jays coach Sara Hegerle after the game. “We did not pass well and that didn’t allow us to get the ball to our outsides.”
Julia Fitterer lead the Pats with 19 kills.
Jamestown is right back to action tonight taking on Dickinson.
