FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A Fargo man accused of killing his girlfriend and setting his apartment on fire has pleaded not guilty.
44 year-old Sheldon Davis is charged in the August 1st death of 52 year-old Denise Anderson at his apartment on 12th Street North. Police and the medical examiner determined that Anderson was dead before the fire broke out.
Davis is charged with murder, arson and endangerment by fire or explosion. His lawyer asked that his bail be lowered from one million-dollars to 500-thousand dollars, a request that was denied.
A friend told police that Davis admitted he had done “something bad” and he turned the stove on before he left the apartment.
