JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Valley City State women’s cross country team competed at the University of Jamestown Invite on Friday. Two Vikings placed in the Top 30 at the meet, which was held at Parkhurst Cross Country Course.

Angeline Gannon crossed the line in a time of 20:48 on Friday, placing 22nd overall to the lead the Viking women. Kirsten Ranke was not far behind as she took 26th place with a time of 21:10.

Valley City State’s women placed fifth as a team, totaling a 116 team score and finishing just one point behind University of Jamestown for fourth place.

VCSU’s Brook Tibke was 33rd with a time of 22:52. Avery Vasicek (35th, 23:25), Kristina Fricke (37th, 23:50) and Terese Kuhbacher (40th, 24:48) rounded out VCSU’s finishers.

Concordia-Moorhead runners took home the top three spots, and the Cobbers won the team title with a score of 19.

Up next: Valley City State now has two weeks off before competing at the Seminole Valley Stampede in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Saturday, Oct. 26.
