FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.) – Alyssa Hatcher led a balanced defense and Cali Halgrimson had a double-double leading Valley City to a straight set win over Fargo North Thursday Night at the Spartandome.

The Hi-Liners won 25-16, 25-18 and 26-24.

Hatcher had a team high 20 digs. Macy Olstad had 16, Jocey Kriewald had 14 and Cali Halgrimson had 14 to go with a team high 11 kills. Olstad added eight kills and Lindsey Noeske chipped in seven.

Dylann Diegel had 16 set assists and Natalie Lemnus added 11. Halgrimson also had two aces and Peyton Pederson had three blocks.

Kennedy Folden and Grace Miller led the Spartans offense with six kills each, while Emily Skalicky tallied 20 assists. Karlie Goshen’s 18 digs led the defense for North.

Valley City improved to 10-5 overall and 6-2 in the EDC,while North fell to 6-8 overall and 2-6 in the EDC. The Hi-Liners host Fargo Shanley and Grand Forks Red River next week for two homecoming matches.
