JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It was an emotional evening of donor recognition and thanks for what the Anne Carlsen Center has done in their long history.

It was topped off with a big announcement by Chief Development Officer Eric Wilkie.

The new Anne Carlsen Center will cost $41 million, so much of the money needed to be raised by donors and the campaign committee. Wilkie informed the crowd at the Anne Carlsen Banquet Thursday evening that the foundation was tasked to raise $12 million.

“Our aggressive plan calls for us to raise $4 million before the end of this year, bringing us to $10 million,” Wilkie stated. “This will allow us to break ground in 2020, leaving the remaining $2 million to raise in 2021 and an opening of the new campus in late 2021.”

Several community partners were recognized for their support and recent donations that have allowed the Anne Carlsen Center to reach their $10 million goal.

Jim & Kim Koenig, current parents to Alyssa at the Anne Carlsen Center, also shared their emotional testimonial for what they center has done for their child.

Recognized donations included:

Dakota Central – $100,000
Dacotah Bank – $100,000
First Community Credit Union – $250,000
Unison Bank – $250,000
Scheels Family Foundation – $250,000 (Challenge match)
Cavendish Farms – $250,000

The highlight of the evening was a donation from Rueben and Clarice Liechty.

The $1 million donation put the Anne Carlsen Center past their $10 million goal for 2019.

The new campus will break ground for their new campus just east of the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
