JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The new Jamestown Rural Fire Department Station is nearing completion.
On Monday, crews parked trucks inside the new building to “test the fit.” The JRFD has been in their current location at 205 3rd Avenue Northwest since 1964, with several additions built on.
The new building will house their 28 volunteers and their equipment to better serve rural Jamestown and surrounding 22 townships.
Cost of the building and remodel cost upwards of $2.8 million. An addition is being built to the east to house the department’s equipment and vehicles. The funding comes from a USDA Loan from the Community Facilities Loan and Grant Program.
