FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For the second time this season, the Valley City Hi-Liners rallied from down two sets to none on the road and come back to win in five sets. Tuesday night, the Hi-Liners got past the Fargo South Bruins 22-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-8.

Head coach Mattie Cruff is still trying to figure out how to start strong, but in the mean time, likes how her team never quits.

As a team, the Hi-Liners served at a 95 percent rate with eight team aces led by Cali Halgrimson with three. The Bruins had 11 aces but 13 services errors. Coach Cruff says the getting those points from the Bruins was good, but serving well was better.

Macy Olstad led a balanced offense with 22 kills. Lindsey Noeske had 12 and Cali Halgrimson had 10 and a team high 21 digs. Peyton Pederson added six kills and two ace blocks. Natalie Lemnus and Dylann Diegel combined for 42 set assists. Lemnus had 28 and Diegel 14.

Cruff says it was a total team win tonight.

Maya Krause led the Bruins with 19 kills and 19 digs for the double-double. She also had a tream high four aces. Gen Gard had 10. Emily Bruer had 25 set assists while Maddie Jackson chipped in 14. Parker Seelig led the defense with 35 digs.

The Hi-Liners are 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the EDC and move into second place in the conference with first place Fargo Davies coming to Valley City on Thursday. Fargo South falls to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the EDC.
