Fargo, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Fargo Police armed standoff near the NDSU campus is now over. It is being reported as a domestic situation. Fargo Police issued multiple statements on Facebook over the last 12 hours. We do know that the children are safe and that the suspect was not in the home when police entered around 2:30 am. The police are searching for the suspect.
COLLEGE STREET INCIDENT UPDATE (3:03 a.m.): 12 Ave. N. is now open and area residents no longer need to shelter in place. The scene is still an active investigation, no arrests have been made at this time.
COLLEGE STREET UPDATE (2:30 a.m.): The children have been reunited with their mother. SWAT is still processing the scene. At this time, please continue to shelter in place.
COLLEGE STREET INCIDENT: Shortly after 10 p.m. tonight, officers were dispatched to a verbal domestic outside a residence in the 1100 block of College Street. Officers arrived and spoke with both parties. The male ran away and entered the residence, locking himself inside. We do know there are two young children inside. There is an active protection order in place between the male and female. The male is a known person to us and we have reason to believe he may be a threat to himself or others.
Officers have been asking residents in the area to either evacuate or shelter in place.
NDSU has sent a message regarding the incident to students asking them to stay away from the area.
We do know that 12th ave. north near NDSU has been blocked off. The Red River Swat team is also at the scene.
