JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Salvation Army has a new Corps Officer serving the Stutsman County region.

The Salvation Army is currently present in 131 countries, running charity shops, operating shelters for the homeless and disaster relief and humanitarian aid to developing countries. Jamestown has an office as well as a thrift store.

Major Judy Lowder took over the position earlier this summer. While she’s new to the area, she’s not new serving for the Salvation Army.

Lowder says she’s still learning all the ins and outs of the Jamestown Salvation Army does. She says they cover a wide range of needs for the region.

Major Lowder says at this time, they’re setting their sights on their largest fundraiser; the Red Kettle Campaign. She says all money raised during that campaign helps the Salvation Army provide their services year round.

Lowder says in her short time here, she’s already seen just how much of a need there is in Stutsman County. She says it’s been amazing just how much they’ve done in the month of September.

Major Lowder says if you have any questions, want to donate, or are in need of assistance, you can call their offices at 701-252-0290 or her cellphone at 701-269-3930.
