MITCHELL, S.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The 13th-ranked University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team outperformed Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) University in nearly every statistical category Saturday afternoon sweeping the Tigers in Great Plains Athletic Conference action.

Jamestown improves to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in the GPAC while Dakota Wesleyan is 10-3 and 0-3 in the GPAC.

Isabel Wedell (SR/Ellendale, N.D.) had 11 kills and hit .333 for the match while Anna Holen (SO/LaMoure, N.D.) added 10 kills and hit. 267 to pace the UJ offense. Jordan Thomas (SR/Pingree, N.D.) added eight kills and finished with a .269 hitting percentage.

Miranda Lowman (SR/Mandan, N.D.) (18) and Jackie Meiklejohn (SO/Dickey, N.D.) (15) each had double-figure assist totals, helping the Jimmies to a .225 team hitting percentage.

Sydney Ellingson (JR/Langdon, N.D.) posted 21 digs and Holen finished with a double-double (10 kills, 11 digs). Britta Knudson (SR/Bismarck, N.D.) and Corina Ruud (JR/Breezy Point, Minn.) both had three total blocks.

The Jimmies outhit DWU .225-.091, with a 45-28 advantage in kills. UJ had 67 digs to DWU’s 62, and did not commit a single block error in the match.

Jamestown returns home on September 21 to host Briar Cliff (Iowa) at 5 p.m.
