JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Patriotic Council held their annual Freedom Walk Wednesday evening.
A group of veterans and community members gathered at Zonta Park near Jamestown City Hall to hear some words shared by Rod Olin, Vice Chair of the Coordinating Council & Legislative Rep for Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Olin shared some words from former President George W. Bush on the day of the September 11th, 2001 attacks.
“This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.”
Members then carried flags in a walk around the block. A remembrance dinner was held following the walk at the All Vets Club.
