Lisbon, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Lisbon Broncos Football team racked up over 400 yards of rushing in their opening night victory of the Central Cass Squirrels to claim the Titan Trophy. Winning by a score of 42 to 12
The Broncos scored on their opening drive and never trailed again. The two teams traded touchdowns in the first quarter with a total of 28 points being scored. But Lisbon converted both of their 2 pt. conversions, while the Squirrels failed on both of their 2 pt. attempts. The quarter was highlighted by an 81 yard kickoff return by the Squirrels #7 Junior Totah. At the end of the 1st quarter it was 16 to 12 Broncos.
The Broncos would score the next 26 pts. unanswered. They were led by dominant offensive line play that allowed the Broncos to gash Central Cass for 444 yard rushing from the line of scrimmage. RB/QB’s Hunter Schultz and Jordan Sours, who split duties in the back field, both rushed for multiple touchdowns.
The Broncos (1-0 overall) will play Fargo Oak Grove (0-2) next Friday (9/6) at 7 pm in Lisbon. The Grovers lost Friday night at home to Shilo Christian 49 to 14.
