JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Disc throwers from around the state and out of state will be in Jamestown in September for the 20th Annual North Dakota State Disc Golf Championship.

Disc golf is played in around 40 countries and there are currently over 115,000 active members of the Professional Disc Golf Association.

Tournament Director Ryan Pfau says they’ve been renovating the Island Disc Course for the past few years and have created one of the best courses in the state.

Pfau says their tournament in Jamestown September 13th through the 15th will bring in numerous competitors across North Dakota and from other states as well.

He says they’ve continued to improve their course and maintain its quality.

Pfau pointed out that they have two separate tournaments in Jamestown. An amateur and beginner competition in Klaus Park on the 14th and the State tournament for the Advanced and All-pro divisions.

Currently, registered participants range from Bismarck to Saint Melrose, WI. If you’re interested in registering for the competition, visit pdga.com.
