Fargo, ND (NewsDakota.com) – Fargo Police confirmed today that a body that was found in south Fargo last week is that of a missing Fargo women from July of 2018.

At a press conference this morning Deputy Chief Joe Anderson confirmed that a body that was found in Riverside Cemetery last Thursday is Brenda Kartes.  Her skeletal remains were found by cemetery staff in plain sight. She was identified by using Dental records. The Kartes family was notified on Tuesday that it was Brenda’s body that was found.  Deputy Chief Anderson did say that Kartes’ cause of death is listed as suspicious.  Anderson also said they believe that someone or multiple people know more about her disappearance or death.  And they are asking that they come forward and talk with Fargo Police.

Brenda was last seen alive on July 12th, 2018 around 1:30pm after she walked away from Centre Inc in Fargo.  She was 31 years old in 2018.
