VALLEY CITY,N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – Bemidji State University recently celebrated 50 years of women’s athletics and part of the celebration was the naming of the top 25 female athletes in the NCAA era.  Amber Olson made that list.

Olson, then Amber Bohman, was a standout track and field athlete for BSU. From 1996 to 1999, she won nine individual championships in track and was part of two championship relay teams. Olson, who went to high school in Park Rapids, won the NSIC Indoor 400M and the outdoor 200M and 400M titles in 1996. She would add the 200 and 400M NSIC indoor titles in 1998. Then proceeded to pick up the 55M and 200M indoor titles and the 100M and 200M outdoor conference titles in 1999.

Also, she was part of the 1998 NSIC Indoor champion 4 X 400 relay team and the 1999 NSIC Outdoor champion 4 x 100 relay team.

Amber and her husband Kirk reside in Valley City with the kids Olivia  (16) , Karina (14).

Olivia and Karina were part the 4×100 and 4×200 Hi-Liner relay teams that reach state this past spring.
