LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – LaMoure County will be hosting a Road Day & Open House this evening in LaMoure.

The public is being invited out to meet the county road crew and check out their equipment. Dale Heglund with the NDSU Extension Service says kids will get a chance to sit in the equipment, take pictures and learn more about what the road crews do for LaMoure County.

“Each year, the North Dakota Local Technical Assistance Program (NDLTAP) selects one county to honor through the County Road Day,” the organization states. “Why LaMoure County? County Commissioner involvement. Bruce Klein, Lamoure County Commissioner, is a strong advocate for the road crew. Josh Loegering, County Engineer, and Tim Geinert, County Operator and Township Officer, are moving the county forward.”

One of these examples of leadership include the snow plow tracking software system that they launched this winter to help the public make educated travel plans based on road conditions. You can read more information on that program here.

The Road Day & Open House will be tonight, August 27th from 3 PM to 7 PM at the LaMoure County Road Department located at 505 4th Avenue SE. The public is invited out for the free event.
