Hospice of the Red River Valley spokesperson Bonnie Oelschlager said through our work at Hospice, we know people have many questions about dementia. Often, people don’t realize that dementia is a terminal illness.

To provide some answers and resources for those who are living with a dementia diagnosis, Hospice of the Red River Valley and The Alzheimer’s Association of ND/MN have partnered to offer the Valley City community a free event called “Living With Dementia,” it will be held Tuesday, August 27 from 3p.m. to 4:30p.m. at The Health Education Center (570 Chautauqua Blvd., Valley City). The community is invited for an evening of practical advice and resources to offer hope and guidance to those living with dementia and their caregivers. A panel of experts will be available to answer questions, including: Dr. Tracie Mallberg, medical director for Hospice of the Red River Valley and Beth Olson, regional care consultant with the Minnesota-North Dakota chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
