JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Orphan Grain Train (OGT) continues to grow and help those around the world.
In their latest newsletter, OGT reports that they had 2 domestic shipments sent out.
“For us, this is a big deal,” Elissa Rosin reports in the newsletter. “I don’t think you realize just how much work goes into getting a shipment to anywhere ready, not to mention trying to coordinate multiple shipments alone with a volunteer staff. So we are excited and grateful for the talents and time that our dedicated volunteers put into making this happen.”
OGT Jamestown also thanked volunteers who have helped with loading and more. The newsletter specifically thanks the men of the James River Minimal Unit.
“[They] come help every week now. These men are close to getting their second chance. They are humble, talented men who are a delight to work with. The skills they have are amazing and we are blessed to have them come and help us.”
On August 2nd, a shipment was loaded and sent to Nicaragua. The shipment is being received by the Lutheran Hour Ministries in Leon, Nicaragua.
“It was full of clothes, quilts, bikes, medical equipment, school kits, layettes, sewing supplies and machines, and toys.”
OGT is currently preparing another shipment to be sent to LIberia. With that load, they will send around 693 boxes of Mercy Meals.
“The need continues to be great over there when it comes to food. We are blessed to be able to encourage and help others. Included on that shipment will be school supplies, books and more.”
