JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown is known for a multitude of attractions from the parks to the World’s Largest Buffalo.

One thing they’re also known for is their different trails.

Ken Gardner is the Trail Manager in Jamestown.

Gardner says they also have a trail north of Pipestem Dam and in recent years, Jamestown Reservoir has developed different trails.

Two events on August 17th and 18th in Jamestown will bring in numerous competitors and participants in and around the region. The first is the Pipestem Creek Trail Run on August 17th.

Participants can pre-register at jamestownparksandrec.com or on the day of the run at the Pipestem Creek Trailhead.

The following day, the Gear Grinder Mountain Bike Race will begin.

The bike race will feature different divisions including Beginners, Recreational, Sport, and Expert classes. The event typically brings participants from North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

For that event, you can also visit jamestownparksandrec.com to sign up and find more information.

Gardner also talked about trail maintenance and the support they’ve had to maintain and keep the trails in pristine condition.
