JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Founded by a North Dakota native in 1969, The New York Kammermusiker has entertained worldwide for 50 years.
The popular, small double-reed ensemble will be performing on August 8th in Ellendale and in Jamestown on August 10th.
Brittney Bain says the group will make their stop in Ellendale at the South Park beginning at 6 PM.
Bain says the group was founded by Ilonna Pederson to reintroduce the instruments and music of the double-reed band to modern audiences.
Following that performance, the Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse will invite the public to come see the group perform in their courtroom on August 10th. Site Supervisor Steve Reidburn stated that Pederson had toured the courthouse earlier this summer.
Reidburn says the concert will begin at 1 PM in the courtroom. He says the event is free, but donations are highly recommended as they continue to renovate and keep the doors open to the public.
