JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission heard from Jamestown Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund on a project to install a kiosk and signage at Island Park Intersection.
Swedlund informed the commission that the kiosk and information sign would better define and director visitors to the recreational opportunities at the Jamestown Reservoir.
The location was determined by meeting with the bike trail architect, volunteer coordinator of the Frisbee golf course, County Park Superintendent, and vendor of the kiosk. The project could take upwards of a month. The commission unanimously approved.
Swedlund later informed the Stutsman County Park Board of two Garrison Grant Request to purchase a bike trail/snow groomer for the regions trails and refresh another trail.
Swedlund says Jamestown Tourism would meet the grant application needs with matching funds for both grants. He informed the commission that the Trail Builders Group will volunteer to clear the routes and conduct the refreshment of the trail.
The commission unanimously approved.
