JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For nearly 40 years, the Jamestown Farmers Market has offered locally made items and grown produce.

A crowd of people were lined up early Saturday morning to get their freshly picked produce and items in Jamestown.

The market is part of the North Dakota Farmers MArket and Growers Association. The purpose is to increase consumer and producer awareness on the benefits of fresh, locally grown, and home made products.

Arnie Falk has been a part of the Jamestown Farmers Market for more than 30 years. He says everything you can find at the market is all homegrown or made locally.

Kay Eagleson brought an assortment of homemade jellies, syrups, salsas, and jams. She says she gathers, collects, and uses a variety of different, local berries and fruits to make them.

Maryanne Letcher brought other homemade items to the Farmers Market along with some fresh produce.

Thelma Trecker has been with the Jamestown Farmers Market the longest. For around 40 years, she’s participated in the event. She said they had a wonderful turnout at their Saturday market.

The Farmers Market in Jamestown runs Wednesdays from 5 PM to 7 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Jamestown Civic Center parking lot.
