GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVYL) – A North Dakota man is facing several charges, including drunk driving, after he crashed his motorcycle into a car in Grand Forks, according to police.

Austin Johnson, 24, of Carrington was transported to Altru Hospital Saturday night but Grand Forks police believe his injures are non-life threatening.

According to the Grand Forks Police Department, Johnson was driving a 2017 Indian Roadmaster eastbound at approximately 10:48 p.m. Saturday when he rear-ended a 2003 Toyota Camry at the intersection of Gateway Dr. and N Washington St.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that Matthew Rodriguez, 43, of Grand Forks was stopped at a red light in his Camry when Johnson rear-ended him.

Johnson was thrown from his motorcycle.

Johnson was cited for care required, driving a vehicle other than permitted by class license, and driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police.
