WATFORD CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The opening day of the 2019 Class B State Babe Ruth baseball Tournament was held on Friday with four games at the Rough Rider Baseball Center, the Lamoure A’s are the defending state champs and played in the third game of the day, here are the results:

Casselton 10 Surrey 0

Thompson 7 Hazen 5

Lamoure 9 Langdon 8, 8 innings

The Lamoure A’s were down 8-1 heading into the fifth inning, they chipped away at the lead scoring three runs in the top half of the fifth inning and then added four more in the top of the sixth for the eight all tie. After scoring one more run in the eighth inning, they held Langdon scoreless in the bottom of the inning in extras and get the come from behind victory and improve to 27-5 overall.

Sheyenne/New Rockford 9 Watford City 8, 8 innings

In a back and forth game, the Blacksox of SNR pull out the victory in the last game of the day. With the game tied at eight in the bottom of the eighth inning, Nick Berglund would hit a lead off triple and then the next batter Koby Duda would hit a walk-off single scoring Bergland for the game winner. SNR improves to 18-2 overall.

1230pm – Langdon vs. Watford City (loser out)

3pm – Casselton vs. Thompson (quarterfinal)

530pm – Lamoure vs. Sheyenne/New Rockford (quarterfinal) (Q101)
