JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Riders and participants are all welcome to come together to help “silence the stigma” surrounding suicide on July 21st.
The Ride to Silence the Stigma was created when Dave and Beth Lautt lost their son, Thomas Avery Doyle, to suicide in 2013. Since then, the ride has been held to raise funds for suicide awareness and prevention. The Midnight Riders of Jud have stepped forward to help keep the event going.
Monte Rodacker has participated in every ride with his wife Cindy. He says the annual ride raises money for many different prevention services including the 1-800-273-8255(TALK) number.
Rodacker says some of the funding will also go towards the Chase Foundation in Valley City.
The annual ride is scheduled for Sunday, July 21st and will have registration beginning at around 10 AM with kickstands going up at 12:30 PM. A balloon release will be held before the ride.
Rodacker says bikes and vehicles are more than welcome to join in the ride to help raise money for their cause.
Cost to join the ride is $20 per person. The ride will go from Jamestown to Marion, to Edgeley, and then Jud to Medina. It will wrap up in Windsor at the Windsor Bar for a meal, door prizes and a raffle.
