UNDATED (NewsDakota.com) – It’s hard to believe but from the first flight by the Wright Brother’s at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina to the Apollo 11 Mission to the Moon was 66 years. It was an unbelievable accomplishment for mankind.
Commander Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon first and said, ” That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Buzz Aldrin was the second man to walk on the moon.
From Apollo 11 to Apollo 17 a total of 12 men walked on the moon. The mission of walking on the moon for the crew of Apollo 13 was aborted after a mechanical failure occurred. The crew returned to the Earth safely.
