JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jeremy and Sarah Wilson of Jamestown were named 2018 North Dakota Leopold Conservation Award recipients.
This August, they will be opening their farms for a fall tour.
The Leopold Conservation Award Program recognizes agricultural landowners actively committed to a land ethic. Working with prominent state conservation partners, Sand County Foundation presents the prestigious honor, which consists of $10,000 and a crystal award, in settings that showcase the landowners’ achievements among their peers.
A tour of the Wilson’s Farm will be open to the public on August 8th from 11:30 AM to 4 PM.
For more than 20 years, the Wilson’s have been outstanding spokespersons and advocates for conservation agriculture. Jeremy was selected as a “Soil Health Champion” by the National Soil Conservation Association of Conservation Districts.
“The tour will highlight cover crops, no-till land practices, nutrient and pest management, diverse cropping systems, and community outreach,” the event says. “The day will begin with lunch at the farm followed by the tour.”
Registration deadline is July 31st. You can click here to register or for more information.
