HARVEY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two individuals were injured following a crash between two semis near Harvey Monday morning.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that both Jesus Sanchez-Constantino, 53, and Francis Grossman, 63, were traveling westbound on Highway 52 west of Harvey.
Grossman reduced his speed to negotiative a right turn onto frontage road to fuel a freight train. Sanchez-Constantino observed the brake lights and took evasive action by applying his breaks, but was unable to avoid a collision.
An undetermined amount of fuel leaked from Grossman’s Kenworth into the ditch when it overturned. Highway 52 was blocked for several hours due to the clean-up of the crash scene and investigation.
Both men were transported to Saint Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey for non-life threatening injuries. Sanchez-Constantino was charged with following too close.
The Highway Patrol was assisted by the Wells County Sheriff Department, Harvey Fire Department, and Harvey Ambulance Service.
