REGENT, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota will soon be home to a new renaissance fair this summer.

A renaissance fair or festival is a weekend gathering and is used to recreate a historical setting for the amusement of its guests.  Using the backdrop of the Enchanted Highway and Enchanted Castle, Jayde Hecker says their spot in Regent, North Dakota is prime for a renaissance fair.

Hecker is the President of Operations for the North Dakota Renaissance Festival. She says Gary Greff, the man who built the Enchanted Highway and runs the Enchanted Castle, has set the scene and now they’ll look to build and expand to compete against other fairs that have been around for years.

Hecker says they have a medieval marketplace with handmade artisan trinkets and several other entertainment opportunities. She says they continue to expand and will hope to have a variety of options for those who attend.

The fair will run each weekend beginning July 13th-14th and ends the weekend of August 31st-September 1st. You can learn more about the North Dakota Renaissance Festival at ndrenfest.com.
