ENDERLIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dylan Bye’s rbi double with two out in the top of the seventh inning broke a 5-5 tie and lifted Hillsboro/Central Valley to a 6-5 win over Enderlin in the Enderlin Wood Bat Tournament Saturday afternoon.
Hillsboro/Central Valley tied the game earlier in the inning when Colton Anderson scored on a passed ball and Colton Aanderud scored on Mason Ritchter’s squeeze bunt.
Hillsboro/Central Valley jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Aanderud’s rbi double and Travis Doeden’s sacrifice fly.
The Railcats tied it at 2 with single runs in the second on Garrett Hanson’s rbi single and fourth when Brandon Utke scored on the front end of a double steal.
Hillsboro/Central Valley went back in front 3-2 when Dylan Bye scored on an error in the sixth.
But Enderlin took the lead in the bottom of the inning. Austin Glarum scored on Colton Sorenson’s bases loaded walk. They would take the lead 5-3 on Zane Gruba’s pinch-hit, two-run single.
But Hillsboro/Central Valley came back to win with the three run seventh. The Railcats would go done 1-2-3 in the bottom of the inning.
Enderlin, now 3-9 on the season, will play Lisbon for fifth place Sunday at 11am.
