BISMARCK, N.D. (Prairie Public) – Severe weather is a possibility over parts of North Dakota over the next few days.

National Weather Service forecaster Todd Hamilton in Bismarck says overnight tonight and into the early morning hours, there is a possibility of severe weather in northwest and into central North Dakota. He says central and eastern Montana could see strong storms, but he says those storms could lose energy as they move into North Dakota.

Hamilton says the next threat could be Saturday. He says it’s forecasted to be warm and humid Saturday, but a cold front could set off storms Saturday afternoon and evening.

Hamilton says conditions Saturday will be very unstable – and the potential is there for what he termed “very severe” weather.

Hamilton says if you have plans Saturday, don’t cancel them – but just be aware of the potential for severe weather. He says just keep an eye or ear out for any advisories, watches or warnings.
