Red River Commodities’ announced that longtime leader Robert (Bob) Majkrzak will retire later this year after 30 years as President and CEO.
Under Majkrzak’s leadership, Red River Commodities has grown from one operating unit to seven major operating units in three states and Canada, earning a solid reputation as a worldwide leader in the sunflower industry.
Majkrzak began working for Red River Commodities in 1985 as Manager of Production and Engineering.
He was named President and CEO in 1989. Prior to joining Red River Commodities, he worked for John Deere, East Moline, IL and Steiger Tractor in Fargo.
Majkrzak has held several industry, public and private Board of Director and Chairman positions.
Eric Christianson will succeed Bob Majkrzak as CEO effective August 1, 2019.
To ensure a seamless transition, Majkrzak, will continue to assist the RRC management team until his retirement on December 31, 2019.
Christianson joined Red River Commodities as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President in 2017.
Prior to joining Red River Commodities, Christianson spent 6 years in various management roles with The Coca-Cola Company, 10 years with Target Corporation including 3 years as Group Manager, Marketing Finance, and most recently 2 years with the Kilbourne Group as CFO.
Christianson, a Rothschild, Wisconsin native, is a graduate of Concordia College with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Organizational Communications and received his Master of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from the University of St. Thomas.
“I am confident that Eric is the right leader for Red River Commodities’ future,” said Majkrzak.
“He brings a broad perspective of our operations, a deep understanding of our people and leadership skills that will serve the company well as it continues to grow.”
Eric and his wife, Julie reside in West Fargo, ND with their three children.
Eric enjoys staying active with basketball, running and golf, as well as being engaged in community events.
