CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Payton Smith hit three singles and Kyle Leapaldt throws a one-hit shut-out to help Post 25 beat Kidder County Post 231 on Monday night 10-0, in five innings by 10-run mercy rule.

Post 25 scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to win the shorten District 4 contest at Carrington City Park. Leapaldt would come to the plate with one out and after a pass ball scored the ninth run of the game, he hit a fly ball to right field scoring Smith for the game winner. Post 25 is now 5-0 in district four and 5-3 overall, KC drops to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in district four play.

Next up for Carrington will be at Harvey on Wednesday for another district contest. KDAK and newsdakota.com will have coverage starting about 5pm.
