CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 87th Annual Foster County Fair in Carrington kicks off Wednesday and runs through Saturday with many fun-filled activities planned, including a carnival, musical entertainment, bull-a-rama, dance and a truck pull.

The grand opening and fair dedication will be held under the pavilion Wednesday night at 7pm, honoring Pat and Mike Biel. Contemporary Christian music will be right after and then Church of Cash music, a Johnny Cash tribute band to follow.

The Mighty Thomas Carnival returns again this year and will open at 4pm on Wednesday and at noon Thursday through Saturday. Daryl’s racing pigs will be held on Thursday and Friday, at 4:45pm, 6:45pm and 8:45pm.  On Thursday night, The Magic Maniac, Kevin Hall will perform at 5:30pm for the kid’s magic show and at 7pm for the magic show. On Friday, the bull-a-rama will be held at the fairgrounds arena at 7pm, then a dance with Slam-a-Bama at 9pm. On Saturday, the Southeast Trucks pullers will start at 1pm.

Most of the events are free including the dance on Friday night. The bull-a-rama, truck pull and carnival charge admission. For a complete list of activities follow Foster County Fair on facebook.

The down home event will take place on Saturday in Carrington starting at 9am. The 800 and 900 blocks of Main Street will blocked the entire day for sidewalk sales, activities, two evening dances and more.
