JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Post 14 Legion team lost their first two games of pool play during the Battle for Omaha tournament on Monday. They dropped a 12-8 decision to Onalaska (Wisc.) and a 13-1 game to Wheaton (Ill.).

The losses snapped Jamestown’s four game winning streak. They will play one more pool play game today against DGF (Minn.) at 2:30pm.

In the opening game, Post 14 did strike first to take a 2-0 lead, but a seven-run 3rd inning put Onalaska in control as they held on for a four-run victory. Jeremy Williams hit a sacrifice fly to start the scoring, then Ryder Lunzman walked with the bags full.

Kohl Kratz homered in the fifth inning. He also had Jamestown’s only hit in game two against Wheaton.
