BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 2019 Scheels All-Star Series wrapped up Tuesday night at the Starion Bank Turf Field at the Sanford Sports Complex in Bismarck and the East came up with a 11-6 win.

The East All-Stars, led by Shanley’s Gabby Nelson and Valley City’s Grace Scherr scored nine runs in the third inning to salvage the final game of the three game series.

Nelson had two doubles and a triple among her four hits. She also scored a run and drove in two. Scherr was 2 for 5 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Becca Thompson got the win in the circle. She allowed 11 hits and four earned runs in seven innings. She walked five and struck out six. Payton Richter of Central Cas added a three-run home run in the nine run third inning.

After the game, they had a skills competition. Scherr was second in the fastest runner and Thompson was third in the home run derby.
