VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jonah Wolla and Madison McDaniel have been awarded the Valley City Education Association Scholarship (VCEA).
VCEA Scholarship Chair Matt Nielson said to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants needed to be a graduate of Valley City High School and enrolled in a teacher education program.
Jonah Wolla is the son of Bryan Wolla and Melissa Kvilvang. He is a senior at Valley City State University majoring in elementary education. Dr. Cindy Zahn had high praise of Jonah complementing his innovation and passion. In Jonah’s essay, he says he wants to make a difference. He understands that building positive relationships with students is the way to make that happen.
Madison McDaniel is the daughter of Wendy McDaniel and Jim McDaniel. She is a senior at Minnesota State University Moorhead majoring in elementary inclusive education and early childhood education. Ms. Abigail Bremer explained in her recommendation that Madison takes the time and effort to explore techniques to create a safe, educational learning environment. Madison cares about making a difference as well as being a never wavering support system for any child that enters her classroom.
Nielson said the members of the VCEA congratulate McDanial and Wolla and will be watching for their future success in the education field.
