FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The first day of the 2019 Class B Baseball tournament kicked off at Newman Outdoor Field with four games, here are the results:

The Muskrats scored right away in the top of the first inning, then the Falcons scored seven unanswered, including a five run fifth. Jade Pulkrabek, Colton Sorenson and Brandan Utke had two hits each to help the Falcons cruise to a quarterfinals victory over the Muskrats in the second game of the day. Sorenson and Utke had two RBI each as well, Pulkrabek had one run knocked in. Dakota Mark and Austin Glarum had one hit each as well and one RBI each as well. Jacob Johnson picks up the victory on the mound, working all seven innings, 114 pitches, 75 strikes, one unearned run, 13 strikeouts and just three hits. Isaac Undlin takes the loss, Kaleb Foltyn had two hits for the Muskrats.

Bismarck Shiloh 5  Carrington 3

The Skyhawks scored one run in the bottom of the first inning, Carrington would take the lead 2-1 in the top of the third, Bismarck Shiloh would retake the lead 3-2 in the home half of the third inning. The Cardinals scored a run in the top of the fourth inning, but then the next two runs were scored by the Skyhawks and they get the victory in the last game of the day. Canaan Fagerland picks up the victory on the mound, working four and a third innings, 82 pitches, three runs, one earned, two strikeouts and two walks, Josh Lardy worked two and two-thirds as well. Lucas Geiszler takes the loss, working five innings, 107 pitches, five runs, one earned, two strikeouts, seven hits and three walks. The Cardinals committed five errors in the contest. Payton Smith had two singles, Kyle Leapaldt had a single, a triple and an RBI. For Shiloh, Fagerland and Jaden Mitzel had two hits each, Mitzel an RBI.
