VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A construction crew moving a crane struck a power pole and knocked out electrical power to the downtown business district and some residential homes in the area on May 29th in Valley City.

Valley City Electrical Supervisor Marshall Senf said the power outage lasted for about 40 minutes before city crews were able to restore power back to electrical customers.

The incident happened when the contractor was moving a crane to work on the permanent flood protection project along Main Street south of the Rosebud Visitor Center in Valley City.
