VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Commission voted against a motion to allocate $20,000 to support South Central Adult Services Transit program during a special city commission meeting on May 14th.
At that time, City Commissioner Ross Powell said there’s a lot of support for the program but he told officials with South Central that they need to make their request during the annual city budget hearings in July.
On Tuesday, May 21st, South Central Adult Services Director Pat Hansen told the commission that if the funding isn’t allocated the taxi service may have to shut down in Valley City.
City resident John Thompson encouraged the city to support this service.
The Valley City Commission will discuss the issue again during their regular June 4th meeting.
